Yet, I too am pleased to see that progress is happening because the opportunity costs are tremendous and we know that no one else is standing still, so late entrants will only have a bigger game of catch-up to play.

I’ll be doing most of my blogging "off the reservation" now, so keep it tuned here for more…

Thanks for your comments and see you in DC!

John

Ah, but you have to ask yourself if Yahoo! is done...

Ah, but you have to ask yourself if Yahoo! is done rolling out IndexTools or if they still have designs on competing in a wider market (i.e., outside of Yahoo's existing ecosystem of customers and partners)?

When I consult the magic 8-ball the only answer I get is "Signs point to yes" ...

Personally I yawned when I saw this week's release. I'm happy that Dennis, et al. are making progress, but I think the real impact of this acquisition will not manifest until companies of all stripes can leverage the insights in your recent constellation and actually include YWA in the RFP process. That is not the case today (mysteriously, since if I were a certified IndexTools partner I would be aggressively leveraging my ability to provide 77% of Omniture at 0% of the price, wouldn't you?) so still we wait ...

... which brings up the upcoming Emetrics event. When I consult the same magic 8-ball asking "Will Brett Crosby announce segmentation and/or APIs in D.C.?" I get the same answer ...

"Signs point to yes."

Anyway, nice to see you blogging again after the Forrester acquisition!

E.
